AMD 3500+ has a dual-channel memory interface. According to this homepage dual-channel helps 3.9% in performance. http://www.aceshardware.com/read.jsp?id=65000314 With the extra memory channel the AMD 3500+ can address two DIMM's at once. I am not sure if you HAVE to install a minimum of two DIMM's on such a chip, but if you do things will go faster. These processors differ (2.4-2.2) / 2.2 * 100 = 9.09% in clockspeed. But Crafty is only 4.91 faster. So that means dual channel helps Crafty another: 9.09 - 4.91 = 4.18 % All the best, Michel
