I think that albert mainly tries to change PD with using all the nice search
switches ed gives. i have made the experience that the strength of PD is not the
search, it is its weakness and i think that PD plays lousy with all those search
switches ON. it makes blunder moves, giving away a good game for nothing.

it might be that the switches are succesful in test-suites, finding key-moves
faster then another style. but they fail in tournament games.
there NO key move is to find, and it is not important if you find a move in 10
or 8 seconds.

what i do is mainly changing the evaluation and trying to get/make PD as
brute-force as possible.

then suddenly it works.

i do not test against amateurs. mainly against s8, f8 and j8 and h9.

From all those programs s8 is the fear-opponent of PD.

but it is possible to get a good style against s8.

i doubt that the default or alberts style works against s8.
