Interesting Dann, I think that my engine has indeed taken on much of my chess personality. I learned to play chess relatively late - in my early twenties - an although I managed to acquire a reasonable understanding of positional and stategical play I suck at tactics. The same is true for my engine. Although it's much better in tactics than I am tactics has always been and still is the weakest link. And often it does exactly what I would do: it tries to simplify the position and win (or hold) the ending. The odd thing is that I didn't instruct it to play that way, at least not explicitly. There is nothing in the evaluation function that encourages it to exchange pieces, for instance. Yet somehow, I don't know how, I must have teached it to play like me. :) Martin > >[Event "Edited game"] >[Site "DANNFAST"] >[Date "2004.10.28"] >[Round "-"] >[White "-"] >[Black "-"] >[Result "*"] >[ECO "C48a"] >[Variation "Four Knights: Spanish, Ranken Variation"] > >1. e4 e5 2.
