The book increase the program strenght if the lines are good and the program gets good positions. Some times the score given by the program is not correct and after some moves the evaluation improves move after move. In most positions however it is better to have a positive score. It depends on the positions/lines. If some lines are weak and the opponents know that you will play them than the risk to lose some games is quite high. This is the same with human players too even if they may "feel" the danger while the computer will play what has been put in the book. We lost the first 2 games due to this problem. Also we did not know what our opponent would play while they knew it with a good percentage. I knew we were not ready for the match and we underestimated Hydra strenght too also considering the very powerful hardware. Next time it will be different as we will prepare carefully. I hope there will be Shredder 9 for sales before the end of the year, but we need to have a quite stronger version to sell, so we are working on it. When it will be ready it will be announced. > >Dom Sandro
