Now I cann't give you the results from the Dual Xeon 3.6 (not my system and I am
not working on this system so far) but Shredder have around on my Dual Xeon 2.8
with Hyperthreading = On 1.150 nps. If I used the normally board settings around
1.050 nps. I have very very fast registered RAM moduls, I believe this is very
important for such a system.

The most of the time I don't overclocked my systems and used the normally board
settings because on my Dual System is my ATL League still running and
overclocking is here not very important. I used overclocking only for test the
processor temperature and test different cooler.

For me much more important that my system works fine and with Tyan Dual boards
and Intel processors I never have any problems in the latest years. Only with a
motherboard from ABit with 2x 1GHz Pentium III processors. This board have a big
problem with in German "Taktgeber". My Pentium III 733 Dual works four years
only problems, I for sell the PC last year. Tyan is a really good address for
"Dual Intel Chess Systems".

I test in morning on Dual Xeon 3.6 (has Level 3 cache, my Dual Xeon 2.8 / 533
don't have Level 3 Cache) and it seems that the Level 3 Cache is ""PERHAPS now"
good for Shredder (not sure about it).

Februray 2004 I have test the following processors on my board:

Dual Xeon 3.0 Level 3 Cache (with Crafty bench) and the results from my 2.8 Xeon
Processors are faster. So I am thinking that the Level 3 Cache isn't very good
for chess. Perhaps the newer Xeon processors have an other Level 3 Cache
technology.

Dual Xeon 3.0 / 533 but here the different is not big enough to buy this
processors and I hold my 2.8 processors. Furhtermore, I have problems with my
board with this 3.0 processors. I have my Dual system now since January 2004 and
never I see a blue screen comes from OS. After an over night analyzes with the
Xeon 3.0 processors I see a blue screen, perhaps one of the processors have a
little problem.

April I test Xeon 3.2 with Level 3 cache and the processors are not many fasters
as my Xeon 2.8 / 533.

But the Xeon I work in the morning with 3.6 GHz are really a very fast
processor. Shredder have after my favorite B01 System and 16 moves around 1.680
nps with the newest Crosair RAMs and the newest Tyan board.

I like this system, because I have created this system now three times and never
I have a problem with the hardware.

Best
Frank
