Hi,

on my Pentium III 550 Shredder have in my ratinglist on this machine around
2.640! On my Dual Xeon 2.8 Shredder 7 / 8 have around 2.760 with one processor.
Perhaps with two and hyperthreading around 2.800!

In reality better
2.540 on your system
2.700 on the Dual Xeon 2.8 GHz

The available computer chess ratings are today all to high!

I believe on your machine Shredder make around 80.000 nps after 01. a3, black
move and 02. a4, is this right?

80.000 x 2
160.000 nps = experts give it 50-60 ELO, more right is around 30-40 ELO
+40

160.000 x 2
320.000
+40

320.000 x 2
640.000
+40

640.000 x 2
1.280.000
+40 (perhaps 35)

Not each time 40 after my experiments which such ELO monster, means Shredder!

My Dual Xeon is around 160 ELO stronger as your Celeron 400 Laptop, not more!
And now and the others can thinking ...

Is a new hardware really OK for me?
Noboday of the readers here have a long time chance on your system to win more
as 50% vs. Shredder 7.04 on your PC.

Have fun with your fast notebook, fast enough!

With other word ...
Nobody can be give your a clear answer but I try it ...
Shredder on your notebook have around 2.540 ELO and GM level!

Best
Frank
