Shredder 7.04, 2.717 sorry, I test here not with the newest Shredder version 02. Ruffian 2.02, 2.683 sorry, I test here not with the 2.1.0 version 03. TheKing 3.23 Pillen, 2.677 07. Gandalf 4.32h, 2.621 622 games 11. Gandalf 4.32f, 2.602 256 games 16. Gandalf 5.1, 2.587 384 games And now 100 ELO more as version 5.1 = 2.687 = ranking two from the available WB / UCI engines which are available! This is a lot!! Here, perhaps interesting too: The results from my private 40 / 5 ratings list I played on Pentium IV 3.06 since a shorter time: 01. Shredder 8.0, 2.714, 504 games 02. Ruffian 2.0.2, 2.682, 722 games 05. Gandalf 4.32d, 2.639, 198 games 08. Gandalf 4.32h, 2.612, 198 games 09. Gandalf 4.32f, 2.606, 198 games no other Gandalf versions in this list. With ponder I played an official list, posted yesterday (my ATL League). Here only Gandalf 4.32h is playing. 01. Shredder 8.0, 2.727 06. Gandalf 4.32h, 2.628 08. Ruffian 2.1.0, 2.628 (no more because Ruffian have ponder = on problems) Gandalf is stronger with longer time controls, Shredder too! I believe no different after a short test with 40 in 40 for around two years with the actual Shredder version in this times. So I believe the strongest Gandalf version is 4.32h but not the most interesting version if I look only on the playing style. The most interesting version is Gandalf 4.32f which have good results with longer time controls too. Gandalf 4.32d is not so strong with longer time controls but very strong for very fast games. 100 ELO stronger is the topic = 75 ELO stronger as Gandalf 4.32h! = 25 different to Shredder 8.0! 25 different to Shredder 8.0 = after Shredder the strongest available chess program we have today! And if Gandalf hold the attacker style and is only 25 ELO to Shredder we have the most interesting available chess program the World saw :-) Best Frank
