Hi Sandro,

sorry for my not clear message in case of Shredder!

I see without the own book improvements from Shredder 7.04 to Shredder 8.0 from
max. 20 ELO. This is OK for me because I like it to have the best available
chess programs. 20 ELO more is a big improvements in the case of Shredder
because the program have a very high level and to try to make it better is much
more work as to try to make a jumping from 50 ELO if the program have 2.200 ELO.
Just my opinion ...

I am a happy Shredder user from the CD from ChessBase and the Classic GUI by
Stefan. I buyed on more times for members for our team the classic GUI.

The SSDF list is nice but not important for me. I have all possiblities to have
my own test results in a short time. I have exactly 15 machines but only six in
used. So I have spoken from my own results.

The prices for Shredder are OK for me, never sayed againt the prices or update
prices. The work by Stefan with his team is professional for me, never say a bad
work against it. I know Stefan, you know that I have run the event Deep Shredder
vs. The World and have much contacts to Stefan. He made a good work and have to
right a good success.

But in the questions ... World is happy with 20 ELO more ... I believe here you
are wrong. Every little improvement for such s strong program is great. 20 ELO
for Shredder is really a lot. If more clear it's better but the Shredder team
made never a bad publicity and ...

The same compare to Gandalf !!
Stefan develops an own protocol. For Stefan important that the users can used
the program under different GUIs. The best GUIs we have today can run with the
number one of the available chess programs. Believe me ... the user see it and
like it.

I believe you have not understand my message or my English is to bad.
But in fact with an Arena book Shredder 8.0 is not more as 20 ELO stronger as
Shredder 7.04 and the big jumping Stefan made is in version 7.04, I believe
around 40-60 ELO stronger as version 7.0 and version 7.0 is around 30 ELO
stronger as version 6. This are the results I have ... and this are good results
I think!

Best
Frank
