I don't agree. I didn't have too much trouble finding styles that had better
blitz results, it's true, but the minute I had those styles play slower games,
such as 30+5 (my standard slow TC), they were usually unable to show any real
improvement.
For example, a style I made called S&D v5.0 clobbered Junior 8 in 5m+3s in the
second half of the Nunn 2 set by 14.5 - 5.5. It seemed like a revelation, yet in
30m+5s, also in the second half of the Nunn 2 set, it scored pretty much the
same as the default settings, or 7.5 - 12.5. It was a very aggressive style,
that did very well in quick games, but in slower time controls the results
changed dramatically.
It's my most extreme example, but that is what happened, so I've learned to be
extremely cautious about announcing a better setting due to blitz results.
I'm posting the setting below for anyone curious, but add again that it is by no
means better than the default settings overall.
