Yes, of course.  That's what he meant by "they will do it too late".  The
current Crafty would mop the floor with the best professional programs of 1985.
But it's not 1985 any more.

Still, it is possible for some breakthroughs.  The current Aristarch is stronger
than several professional programs.  Crafty might make some clustering
revolution and ride on a giant Beowulf cluster to victory.  Already, on very
fast hardware, Crafty competes very well.  There may be some idea that is a
revolution like Alpha-Beta was that divides the work into a fraction.

Shredder is in a class of his own.  But it probably won't last forever.

When Shredder 19 is out, maybe some unknown rises from obscurity and conquers
the world.
