Hi Kurt

I suggest that you try some moves later in the main line

17.Rd4 h6 18.Nge4 g5 19.Qg3 Nxe4 20.Rxe4 are suggested but after these moves

20...f5 21.Rd4 Qc6 22.Rd5 f4 23.Qh3 Rad8 seem clearly better for black.

Does white has good alternatives

I see nothing after 19.Qg3
possible candidates before 19.Qg3
based on using Fritz on multi variation mode(all leading to advantage for black)

19.Qc1
19.Qd2
19.Nf6+

18.Nh3
18.Bxd6

17.Rdd1
17.Rd2
17.Rd5
17.Rg3
17.Re3

17.Rdd1 seems the best candidate based on Fritz but still it seems that 17...Qf5
or 17...Nc4 gives advantage for black.

Uri
