Then you misunderstood it. It is a piece of code that was originally written by
who-knows and provided for download. It contains no code that would be part of a
chessengine or could be used to play chess.

Applied to your legally bought engine that comes with ChessMaster, it will
remove the need for CD check of the original code by Johan deKoning.

Much more tricky, if you think about it, and I am pretty sure that there is
nothing illegal and abusive in just using this piece of software for your
personal benefit, although there is a potential for abuse of course, and I am no
lawyer. I'd also bet that the *vast* majority of people who use this "Dead King"
are just legal owners of the software who are fed up with all this OPK stuff.
