Then that is the problem. Craftys binary book files are endian sensitive and not exchangable between PC and Macs. You have to build your own book with crafty. Remove book.bin and books.bin from the crafty folder. See if you can start crafty now. Then download a pgn file from Bob's ftp site (enourmous.pgn or games2600.pgn and start.pgn) and put them in the crafty folder. Start crafty and type book create <filename.pgn> 60 3 books create start.pgn 60 quit The next time crafty ist startet it should load its book. regards Andy
