Subject: New and would appreciate help

I love to play othe opponents and computer opponents while using a chess
program. I currently own chesmaster 9000 and soon to by shredder 8. When i am
playing on icc and yahoo with chessmaster i see some people with chess program
go very quickly as if they have conneced the chess program to the internet or
something related to that. Could someone clue me in on how to do this. Thank you
