I know this won't happen but just as an exercise, imagine if we were to have a chess channel – could you find enough stuff to fill in a TV channel with chess related programming? Would that ever be feasible? (after all, we do have the golf channel!) Here's what I thought of: * News – with what's going on all over the world – latest championships with complete coverage * Biography – not just the legendary players but also key people involved in chess – maybe some of the programmers, CEOs of big chess companies, etc. * Greatest chess games – detailed analysis of famous games with behind the “game” specials * Live coverage of events (not just snippets but the real stuff as it happens!) I can see how this would be boring for someone who doesn't like chess but can you imagine watching a big game, uncut, with commentary by a GM? * Movies? anyone has a list? I can't imagine seeing endless reruns of “Searching for Bobby Fischer” * Reviews, specials, documentaries (chess computers? :) I can also think of the stumbling blocks: extremely low interest, almost no sponsorship (if any) Now that I think of it, we may not have enough content for a TV channel but I figure I'd post this anyway :) Not that this group needs it! I'm away for a few days and I see tons of messages to catch up with! Ismenio
