I can compile a few older versions to test it. It seems there are quite a few people that believe that there is something wrong with Crafty's late middlegame to endgame play. In a few of the SSDF games this can be seen as well. This of course relating to 19.17. The problem is that many people do not use the default books, choose very random settings, or have an incorrect rc file. It is _very_ difficult to see one main problem. I think I will watch Crafty play on ICC for most of the day and see where I can come up with some more positions to send to Bob. At the same time I will analyze the games with an older version to see if it comes up with a better move. Peter
