I went to look and must admit that I found the Chessbase pages a bit
disappointing. The reason is that while I knew the News items were different due
to translation and contributor issues, I expected the catalogue to be the same
independently of the language. It is not. If you go to the English language
version of their catalogue, you will see Fritz 8 described as being the version
that tied Kramnik 4-4 and listed at 49.95 Euros. If you go to the German
catalogue (http://www.chessbase.com/shopd/) you'll see that the latest Fritz
version is the Bilbao engine

and it is cheaper too at 39.99 Euros. So much for the non-German speaking
customers. :-( Anyhow, it isn't unreasonable to wonder whether this engine
might not be even stronger (if by a hair) than the Deep Fritz 8 for one CPU.
