right again
in fact there were only three models were ever released that could recognize the
pieces and (and piece color)
more commonly known..the Tasc and the Mephisto Bavaria board
it should be noted..the Bavaria board could accept several different modules
starting with the 1989 Portorose program(Eprom version 1.04 not 1.01) and
continuing thorugh the 1990(Lyon ) and 1991 (Vancouver)and of course all of
these modules were available in 16 and 32 bit versions

lesser known was the Mephisto Tournament Machines which also had piece
recognition and contained 68030 versions of the Potorose-Lyon-Vancouver modules

very rare and highly valued by collector's the world over..
