>EPROM deletion? Wow! Are these the ones from the 70's? I thought EPROMs would be >quite durable! I'm not doubting you at all Steve, I just didn't expect that :o more like :( then :0 yes deletions(mostly late 70's and early 80's) if eproms are kept in lighted areas they delete faster when one acquires a computer from someone else there is no telling how it was cared for if for example it was on display on a desk in direct sunlight there is a higher probability it will become deleted one tell tale sign is to look at the wooden board squares if you see light or faded areas on the board there is a good chance it was in direct sun light also many collector's will replace or switch eproms in a computer..so how the eprom was cared for is a concern. >> >How do you take care of them? Anything special (temperature, any type of >"cushion" material? keeping them away from <insert_list_here> ). Any top tips >you would like to share? high humidity is always a killer and to be avoided like the plaque i try to have a complete "package" for a particular computer.. by this i mean..the original box, foam packing inserts, cellophane wrapping etc.etc. makes for an easier tracking of the pieces, manuals, adaptors etc storage space of course is the biggest obstacle to this way of collecting for this i recommend two homes one to live in and one for the computers :)) Steve
