I suppose one needs to wonder what he calls "good hardware". Shredder 7 on a 450
Mhz box achieved an SSDF rating of 2699, by far the best rating on that hardware
and higher rated than Rebel 12 even on a 1200 MHz machine, and only omse 20
points less than Chess Tiger 14/15 on a 1200 MHz machine. I tend to believe that
Shredder 8 would do quite a bit better, and more than the 10 point rating
difference on the latest list. I actually think Shredder 8's rating will
increase some in the next list.
