Hi, give me an exactly example: Only with this words I can nothing do. I have played around 2.000 games with SOS since SOS is the main engine for Arena Chess GUI. The programmer of SOS is programmer of the UCI protocol too. Arena have 1:1 support for UCI 1 and UCI 2 protocol. SOS.4 for Arena are an UCI 1 protcol engine. SOS and all other UCI engines works fine under Arena with 1:1 protocol support. I don't know what ChessBase made in detail. ChessBase used an adapter for make the UCI engines compatible. This adapter works good! I don't believe that SOS.4 under Arena is under ChessBase GUI faster as under Arena GUI with 1:1 support. This is just not possible! So added analyzes in this forum we can try to find the problem you have. Information about: TB in used, 4-pieces, 5-pieces, how many cash for tbs, hashtable size, Arena GUI version, OS version, processor you have. How many RAM you have in the system and how many RAM you have free after loading Arena in combination with SOS and so on ... EPD / FEN of your analyzes. Best Frank
