I dont really know what is or is not a good test position for a PC Software chess engine..but.. the black position only has 8 possible legal moves could not this make it easier for an engine to stumble upon the correct move ,then say an endgame postion that had 20-25 possible legal moves? i realize a good evaluation function will eliminate many silly or meaningless first moves for consideration..but only 8 possible first moves..?? perhaps i am wrong though..
