I have long wanted to have a "randomizer" feature on my beloved programs (Fritz, Hiarcs, Junior, etc). That would be huge fun ... when you sat down to play, you would not know if you were facing a novice, an expert, or a Grandmaster. It would be truly unknown. Not just in terms of strength, but also amount of book knowledge or styles of play. You could be facing a careful Karpov or Petrosian sytle of play, or a wild Tal or Nezhmetdinov style. You would never know what to expect ... that would be great fun. Then, afterward, you could go look and see "who" you played, and analyze the game. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? I think Chessmaster has a similar feature, but I am not a big Chessmaster fan. Hopefully, this feature could be added. Deep Sjeng has good capabilities to make interesting and fun personalities to play against, but I know exactly "who" I am facing. That's not the same. Come on, Chessbase and Lokasoft ... build in a radomizer capability! Facing a totally unknown opponent would be like a pickup game at the park. Fun! Mark Anderson
