Hi, there's a new version of Kiwi at: http://www.ascotti.org/programming/chess/chess.htm Regarding the strength of the engine: I have tested this version against some of the best engines and, unsurprisingly, it lost all the games. However, it generally survived past the first 40 moves and quite often until the endgame, which is not a bad result in itself... Well I know, I'm easy to please ok?! :-) Anyway... there are new opening books as well, and some updates to the chess pages. The PDF version of Ed Schroeder's description of Rebel has been updated with a few corrections and renamed: http://www.ascotti.org/programming/chess/Inside%20Rebel.pdf The UML statechart of the Winboard protocol has now an explicit "waiting" state: http://www.ascotti.org/programming/chess/xboard.htm
