Probably not every program knows how to appreciate a work of art? But to be sure I don't know why your programs don't find the shortest path, and I'm afraid I don't have any of the Chessbase programs yet. I think I'll buy Shredder one day. Especially with endgame tables I would think the program should find this instantly, if you have the right 5-piece tables? I honestly don't know. Eelco
