>>the tasc units play at FIDE GM strenght >>they are rated 2300-2400 ELO> >really? yes really look here: http://www.schachcomputer.at/eloliste.htm or here: http://www.elhchess.demon.co.uk/ehss.htm >>U r interested more in Dedicated Units because u r a collector. if you read my post you would see i replied as a CHESS PLAYER..not as a collector >u can do that by using DGT board on PC also so why to waste more money on IM level opponent when u can buy a Super GM level (well tentetively)opponent again if your read my post myself and many other chess players find it objectionable to play chess on a PC with a screen and a mouse we prefer a real chess board and pieces > While what Istated was from the point oif view of Chess Player.Tell me how it improved ur chess? Did u play against all units u collected? my chess is beyond improvement at this stage of my life i am too old to get better i am happy that i still remember how to move the Bishop yes i play against them, early and often however for younger men/woman then me ,if you are rated less then 2300 Elo then playing against a higher rated opponent any time of day or night will only improve your chess >> >ok as such my last post was not to offend u but just my opinion so sorry if i >have hurt u. i was not hurt i was simply correcting your erroneous posting >I beleive in analysing with Chess Programs and not playing against >them to improve ur game. well i guess we have a different definiton as to what a chess PLAYER is to me a chess PLAYER is one who PLAYS a game of CHESS not that i am in any way saying analysing is not fun or interesting but it is not the same as playing a game of chess against an opponent i could not recommend paying $2000 FOR A Tasc computer to analyse a chess position your $30 chess program will do that just fine but i can recommend a Tasc computer to play a very strong game of chess with Steve
