Not as strong as PFII and Pocket Genius on my Dell. PPC Genius sees up to 5x
the number of nodes ,although on my PC - Genius and Crafty see roughly the same
number of nodes. The 5x differential is too much to overcome imo. I have not
played many games against the two -- so it is mostly first impression. Richard
Lang has maximized his throughput on WM2003 Dell Axim. In addition , the
foreign Dell roms do better than USA roms (for Crafty at least anyway). Chess
Genius on my USA Dell 400 Mhz is 33% faster than Alain 300 Mhz French ROM Dell
- right where it should be. Yet,PPC Crafty is only 7% faster on USA 400 Mhz
Dell than the French 300 Mhz Dell.

But... CEBoard has many features that no other chess program has in one package
- it has two engines, full PGN search capability - name, ELO (if staed in ELO
tag) and position search and handles PGN variations. When you have it do the
search, it will automatically search every pgn file. It appears to be fast,
but my pgn files are very small. I haven't tried a big file.

The program is still beta - and bugs are still being worked out. It is not
quite ready for primetime yet - but it's getting close.

.. grab your books from here if you do not have any
http://www.crafty-chess.com/win32.html

- PPC Crafty uses the exact same book files as the PC (same format)

CEBoard with engine requires WM2003 (aka PPC2003), CEBOARD without engine will
work fine on PPC2002 - it is a separate download.

did I mention the price ? -- FREE --
