I heard SMK say (I dont remember on www.shredderchess.com or a email) it is the latest Shredder 8 engine but lacks some speed and optimization done in the (Shredder 8 CB). I found it little confusing but was never informed that it play about 150 points weaker. In this case as a average user u can not find that out unless u conduct serious tests. In fact I came to know about it on this forum and that too was not confirmed until ur posts some days back. any ways I m not going to buy Shredder 8 CB as u said Shredder 9 will be coming out. Another thing is that this weaker engine is not free as it will go off after 30 days if u have not registered (I registered before that so could not find that.) Furthermore u have to buy both to play the strongest so nothing is free. Thanks Peter
