Subject: Hardware Spec for new chess computer

Hi There.

This is my first post!

I would be grateful for any advice as to which processor I should include in my
new pc. It will only be used primarily for running chess playing software and
databases.

There appears to be two conflicting requirements for future software releases.

I understand that the next Junior release is likely to be a 64-bit application:
This would appear to make an Athlon 64 the sensible choice. However:

I also understand that Chessbase 10 is optimised for intel processors, in that
the program takes advantage of hyper-threading.

There appears to be a direct conflict? May I have your views please?
