What gives? its the way Ebay bidding works if i place a maximum bid of say $1000,and the current leading bidder is $350 then my bid will appear as $360 i will now be the current leader other's can then bid..say 400..410 and i will still appear as the leader with say $420 because i have bid up to a maximum of $1000 their bids will show up as less then mine and it will appear as if they are bidding against themselves bidders will do this "chip away"bidding to see how high the current leader is willing to go.. hope that was a clear explanation Best Steve
