Of course not. The money is not ring-fenced for the protection of the computer chess groups. If ICD went bankrupt then the money goes down with it for payment of creditors and not for any future chess group resurrection. The bottom line is donations go to improve ICD's profits or reduce their losses, whichever. Why should I be interested in improving their corporate status and in any case, ICD need to turnover at least 1,000,000 USD to survive, imo, given their size and operation, so how can 3,000 USD or so make any difference? On that basis, I don't even believe the reasons given for asking for the money. >how about a link to ICD on your web page?(if you have one) I have a blog.
