On Dec. 10 the fourth Online-Masters 2004/2005 begins. It will be conducted in a
special tournament room on the Fritz8 Playchess server (www.schach.de). Most
participants are using the Fritz8 interface, which allows he engines to play
automatically online. The tournament will go on until Februar. There are around
35 participants in 5 groups of 7 programs which were entered by users. Level: 60
minutes per game + 15s per move (fisher-clock). 16 programs will qualify for the
Ko-Games.
Each group will play a double round robin, which means that each program will
play ml. 12 games.
Last years winner Deep Sjeng, the year before it was Christian Goralski
(Gandalf6), Stefan Kleinert (CM8000) got the title 2001/02. Will Sjeng defend
its title? Will the brandnew Gandalf will get it again? A lot of Players are
using latest engines with the very best hardware so the Masters will be the
strongest computerchess-tournament ever played. Some brand new beta-versions
will play the very first time in public - Fritz8 Bilbao, Shredder8/9?,
Junior8/9?, Gandalf 6, List 5.15, Aristarch X, GoliathEvolution ...
In summary over 100 games will be played until we know who will win the
Online-Masters 2004/2005. There will be a special price for the best
amateur/oldie/palm, too. Have fun!
