I tried the Celeron 300A (overclocked to 450Mhz) and it ran smoothly.  However,
one of the crucial tests that made me turn to a "true" PII was the Crafty
Benchmark test. The overclocked Celeron scored only 1.27 (if I remember
correctly), while the PII-350 rendered 2.00.  That's what made me opt for the
PII.  Yes, the Fritzmark test was rather in favour of the Celeron, but Fritz is,
as Bob Hyatt pointed out, small and compact and I plan to run much larger
programs on my computer.  Voyager, the program that I run on both FICS and ICC,
performs significantly better on the PII chip.
