Now open a windows command prompt. Change to the just created directory. e.g. CD \g60 Now start the engine by type gandalf60 followed by enter. Give the engine the uci command (uci followed by enter) The result should be something like this: id name Gandalf 6.0 id author Steen Suurballe option name Hash type spin default 4 min 4 max 1600 option name MultiPV type spin default 1 min 1 max 20 option name NalimovPath type string default c:\ option name BookPath type string default .\ option name NalimovCache type spin default 16 min 8 max 32 option name Ponder type check default true option name OwnBook type check default true option name Use TB type check default true option name Use Learning type check default true option name Contempt factor type spin default 0 min -50 max 50 option name Clear Hash type check default false option name Clear Learning type check default false option name Style type combo default Normal var Normal var Gambit uciok copyprotection checking copyprotection ok If this goes well then try to import the engine in chessbase from the this directory. If it fails post the results here or sent it to support. Be sure to mention your hardware/software configuration. One more thing, corrupt table bases are also a known cause of engines failing. To check this just rename the tablebase directory to something else. Lex
