I have noticed that many windows chess progs don't use much hash. For instance CM5500-6000 are defaulted at 1 meg. Even when you increase the hash on CM it really has very very slight increase scoring practicaly the same thing on louguet suite test. Further, programs such as Hiarcs and MChess have limited ram in windows(128kb). What's the reason for this limited ram? Rebel 10 allows fairly large hash in windows, so why don't other professional programs. Specifically is hiarcs 7 much weaker in windows(128kb hash) than running in dos with say 28 megs of hash? If so by approximately how many points. Mchess it would be interesting to know as well.
