Only problem I have had is that the standby mode stoped to work after I had installed my apps plus upgraded WinXP with SP2. It is a little minus so I will do some try to get it to work, it will extend the batt.time if you can set it in standby with the panel. I haven't tested the batteri life but for my use until now, I haven't had any problem. I would guess around 5-6 hours with normal use (no engine running). But I will set it to search on the startposition tomorrow and see how long it will run. The noice isn't much difference from my last laptop with a PIII/850MHz. A little fan noice when the proc. work hard (running chess program), but not so much that it is annoying. When it don't do any hard work it is complete quiet. Though, there is some noice from the DVD when I watch Roman's DVDs. The temperature after som hours engine search is less than on the old PIII. Eg. not annoying hot. The fan is blewing on the side and not on the bottom so you don't need to arrange it (lift it up) for a long time search. The bluetooth is nice, I use it to connect to my mobile phone so I can do remote controlling. Earlier I used the infrared port, but sitting in a car etc. it's hard to keep the phone and pc in sync. >Performancewise : >If you have Fritz 8, what nps do you get at 64MB hash on Fritzmark ? I only have the DGT version of Fritz, eg. Fritz 6 in Fritz 7 gui. I didn't get the Fritzmark to run in this setup. >If you have Shredder 8, what nps do you get at 256MB hash on the initial >position, after approx. 60 sec ? Here I only have Shredder 6, but I have only installed the classic engine so I can reach the engines (6.0 and 6.02 paderborn) from other gui. >You have ChessTiger2004 :-)), what nps do you get at 192MB hash on the initial >position, after approx. 60 sec ? After 1.06 minute with Tiger 2004 in CA 8 I get 910 kn/s. Odd Gunnar > >Thank you for these data. > >Ernest
