12. Nf1 isn't in any books AFAIK. It's a try to avoid the opposite colored bishop endgames that are the norm after Nh4. And while Rd2 is probably stronger that Rg8+ white can play a similar plan after Rbe1 and if then Rxc2 Rxc2 Bxe1 Kf3 trying to dominate the bishop with the knight and the kingside pawn. Probably not enough compensation, but worth a try. MvH Dan Andersson
