On ICC and FICS are humans at a disadvantage using screens? I think >I am looking for an excuse! I don't think this question has a 'yes' or 'no' answer. I think the answer is, 'it depends'. Some play better while looking at a computer screen, while others play better while looking at a real, physical chess board. Let me ask you a different question. Are humans more accurate at shooting guns when they are shooting virtual guns using a computer (i.e. video games) or when they shoot real, physical guns? The answer is, 'it depends'. A military sniper will be better shooting a real gun, while a teenager who plays 3D shoot-em-up video games 8 hours a day will be better shooting a virtual gun on a computer screen.
