Barry,

I do this with Fritz 8 GUI (16 April 2004). File/New/Openings Book... Fill
out the new books name and location, ect... Then Edit/Openings Book/Import
Games...

Now the book you want to import to, your new book in this case, should be open
in the GUI. Select the *.cbh file of games that you wish to import and all
should go well.

Now if you had started with a book (*.ctg) that had games in it you might get
a message saying "New positions : 0" if indeed a the positions were in said book
already. But positions should definitely be added to your new empty book.

I have forgotten if the import .pgn to book works or not, but you can import
.pgn into .cbh first if direct .pgn import fails. Also I don't remember why I
stopped at 16 April 2004 version, maybe it was the book thing or maybe something
else.

FWIW,
BK
