Hi Helmut. I answered this question when you replied to my original post. My
version of Tablebase.eng (which was included with Hiarcs 9) does not recognize
6-man multi-part tablebases. It only recognizes single part 6-man tablebases. On
the other hand, the file TBAccess.dll allows Hiarcs, Shredder and Fritz to
access multi-part tablebases during probing.

The problem that I have with the Tablebase engine is that it is not
automatically activated when a 6-man position is reached for which a tablebase
is activated. The Chessbase GUI leaves the "normal" chess engine activated,
letting it make one move before querying the tablebase with TBAccess.dll. No
tablebase lookup is made for the position on the board.

Mike
