You did not test Gandalf5 in the same machine so it does not contradict the claim that Gandalf6 is 100 elo better than gandalf5. Maybe Gandalf does not like your P4 and Gandalf5 will even fail more in your machine and will be 100 elo weaker. It may be interesting to know the number of nodes per second that gandalf and hiarcs get in your machine and compare with people with faster machines. Another possibility is that gandalf does not like fischer time control and is relatively better at x minutes/40 moves. Uri
