There is certainly a bug in the conditions under which ERT outputs the
"Checkmate !!" string, because this problem also occurs with Chesstiger 2004 for
example, which is a native engine. And it happens with many other engines,
winboard and UCI. Somehow ERT apparently thinks that there is a mate score even
if there is non.
In addition I would change the text, something like "Black will mate" or similar
is definitely more reflecting what is going on than "checkmate !!".

I understand that the other problem is in the Rebel engine, so I think it should
be fixed in Rebel. As customer I have bought a product, and it is probably not
too much of an interest for a customer, whether the problem is in part A or part
B of the product purchased.
