The information given on the ChessBase base page doesn't clearly give reason to
believe that Fritz8 'Championship Edition' is substantially different from
Fritz8.  I suspect that it is the inclusion of the sample Kasparov media file on
the CD that makes it different.  Perhaps there are changes in the engine and
opening book too?

It would nice if ChessBase in their advertising would do a little less media
hype, but be a lot more sesistive to current owner's of the program, who would
actually like to be 'sold' on why it would be worth buying the new program,
rather then just updating their current program on-line.

I suspect that like most 'big companies', the bottom line is too sell as many
units as possible to new users, and 'screw it' about what you say to the current
users - As you already got them to buy your product in the past & they are
likely to not buy a product with the same version # on it again.  What they
forget is that those very same customers may well be the best one's to convince
to buy their product as gifts during the holidays...
