James, That's troubling, since I just today purchased a copy of Chessbase 9 for myself. My copy of Gandalf 6.0 sees this mate instantly in my Fritz 8 GUI, and also instantly in Chesspartner 5.3 (where it's native). So, what in Chessbase 9 would suddenly prevent the same engine from seeing the mate in one that any beginner could find? I hope Chessbase 9 is not full of holes. Worrisome! By the way, speaking of "holes" ... I clicked on one of the later messages (in this same thread if I remember correctly), and I was instantly kicked out of CCC, and even out of the internet in about .01 seconds! I find this occasionally happening lately, but *only* at CCC. What's with that??? Does anyone know? It's *extremely annoying* ... I have to go back into the internet, back to icdchess.com, and then sign in again. If this whole thing is related to a post that's been "exorcised" by a moderator, then he's just doing his job, but please remove it completely so the unwary won't click and be unexpectedly tossed from CCC and the internet! If that's not what it is, then what's doing this? Mark Anderson
