Thanks :) Hi Robert, Somewhere in the past I remember comenting on a similar question. It has been my position that as processors get faster (Astronomically faster) we will be able to look at more and more positions (and wider searches) that will be able to catch this. I am not implying that we are close to being able to do that but hypothetically if we could use brute force to say 20 ply we would be much more able to see it coming compared to say a brute force of 5 ply. Obviously we are no where close to being able to accomplish this now but some where down the line, and as speeds pick up, the more positions and wider our searches are the more likely it will be to catch positional advantages.
