Thanks Pavel.I am using windows 98 and have had difficulties intermitantly with this.I will give your idea a whirl next time I have problems.It seems to me I did something like that but cannot remember exactly as I tried so many things.The import games function worked good a few nights ago when I made a book from at least 100,000 screened games.I did not have to resort to any silly tweaks.It just worked to my surprise.Anyways I managed to make all the specialized books I wanted so cannot say when I will try again.Thanks for your imput on this.Regards Andrew P.S Perhaps the GUI IUP from chessbase resolved this.
