Hello Anson T J,

Yace can do it for free.  The information below is quoted from Dieter.  It
works.

NB.  Yace PB stands for Yace Paderborn.  It may work for more recent versions
however.





"If you have Yace-PB, you can type at the console prompt:

add_eco games.pgn games15.pgn n 30

Which will save 30 plies of the games in games15.pgn. It will also strip all
variations and comments. It will add some opening classification to the PGN
headers. If this is no problem, it might be enough for you.
You can use any name for the files including path, but they must not contain any
spaces."
