Supposedly they are best in an open game against humans, shallow tactics with many variations(as opposed to deep tactical lines), etc. Hiarcs has a lot of human knowledge programmed into it compared to other top programs. I've also noticed in chessmaster 9000 that some personalities are much stronger against me then when they are against other personalies with similar ratings. Jason
