THe message says "Read error" and shuts down or freezes, so I have to try and shut down Windows. I notice though that it does some nice things, and takes time to sort, create Indexes, lists, etc. It maybe doing that, when you think it 'freezes' it might be working on something. Try waiting a bit longer and see if that helps. When on-line and it happens, I find that on ocassion, the delay is because AOL is downloading to it's Data Base. Some of my problems have been 'operator error' & impatience. Also I note unless I click the mouse in just the right place, there can be a tendency to freeze up. Keep playing around with it... see if there is improvement.
