Rd3 does seem like a reasonable move but I'm not convinced its any better than
Rac8. It may be more thematic but objectively speaking I'm not convinced of its
superiority.

Note that after Rd3 white has the interesting try Nd4. The good thing about Nd4
is that it allows white to swap black's knight thereby preventing black from
playing Nd4 which would surely be strong. Black really wants the option of
playing Nd4 later on as its a great outpost and would (probably) force white to
play Bxd4 thereby allowing black to undouble his extra pawn.

Does Evans analyse Nd4 ?
